I've painted since the age of 3. Color, it's psychology and science have always fascinated me.
When we Paint, we're manipulating Light. even more directly when digitally painting. Artwork done on the computer is all conceptual; pixels, little smidgets of electricity creating a visual delicacy for us that only exists as energy. We can't physically touch it unless the image is printed. Unlike much fine art, it has no smell, no physical texture, tactility, really, this is visual art in it's purest, least adulterated form.
Art is a tough field to crack
[Especialy with so many new artists pouring into it out of pure love for "expression"]. Artists must be decisive, confident in their abilities, and focused to improve their work. They say that an artist makes more decisions in one painting than a business manager makes within their e n t i r e lifetime.
We have to choose a composition using psychology of positive and negative spacial effects. Contrast; How do we make the picture plane balance while retaining a focal point? Perspective; atmostpheric and linear... knowledge of the physical attributes of air particles and math come into play. Simplify without taking too much information away.
>>>>>>>>>>> and that's merley half a step forward discluding color.
So for the sake of staying short-winded, Let me leave You with This...
"What is Life without Creativity?"
"Boring."
